Garo opened Garo’s Deli in 1989 with more than little desire to share his love for healthy and authentic Armenian food to everyone in the DTLA area. Since 1989, Garo and his family have been serving up amazing dishes and sandwiches for more than 30 years. Garo built a strong following for over three decades by always offering superior quality consistently – all with a smile and a true display of thankfulness….
And now, we’re continuing that legacy…
In March 2020, there was a change of ownership in Garo’s Deli. Yes! This took place in the middle of the mandatory lockdown placed in the state of California due to the pandemic. This, however, didn’t stop the owners from proceeding with the plan of renovating Garo’s Deli and taking it’s legacy to the next level. After some renovations, Garo’s Deli was finally able to partially open to the public as early as May 2020. From there on, we’ve been working hard to serve our community of Downtown, LA in the best way that we can. Now we’re referred to as the #1 Deli Sandwich Shop in DTLA due to the superb quality of our sandwiches.
We‘re so confident in our message that we’d like to invite all of Downtown, LA to come try our food! We’re known primarily for our sandwiches, but we also serve authentic Armenian specialties in sandwiches, wraps and plates such as Kofte, Shish Kebab, Falafel, Chicken Shawarma and more!
